Team

Roland Glausen

Owner and Manager

He loves to travel all around the world and with his wife Doris he has created a second home in Florida. There, as here, they like to keep up with friends, and they invest time in being themselves, enjoying themselves, and in recharging the batteries. At the same time, professional goals are an ever-present. Being hands-on, offering support, taking decisions quickly and straightforwardly, making things happen for his clients – these are the things Roland Glausen loves about his role. When it comes to being patient, sometimes the odd hiccup arises: an uncovered claim can certainly get the founder and Chairman worked up! In such moments, he prefers to imagine himself somewhere else: fooling around with the kids, diving with sharks in the Philippines or kite-surfing in Thailand... Definitely a man of action.

Dieter Glausen

Owner and Manager

Dieter Glausen takes the role of Dagobert Duck very much to heart. As accountant, Controller, CFO and Head of IT, he gets to grips with the things which his partners are pleased and happy to leave up to him. He juggles effortlessly with figures, maintains an overview and addresses the challenge of the constant changes in the field of EDP. Through good solutions, he has contributed right from the start in taking the company forward. So if someone accuses him of being a “nit-picker”, he’s not offended – in fact, he takes the acknowledgement of attention to detail as a compliment. It’s part of the psychological make-up that makes him a problem-solver in any inter-personal situations. Away from work, he takes a more relaxed approach to life when in the Spanish or Caribbean islands – preferably with a fine plate of sushi. That accords perfectly with his spirit of “live and let live”.

Daniel Flügel

Owner and Manager

“Flügel” – “wings” by name, and he can definitely make things take off. As a partner and member of the management, Daniel Flügel is committed to ensuring that customer concerns are always given the boost they need. But the business economist and Executive Master of Business Administration only really gets going after his own boost, in the form of his morning cup of coffee. Along with his constant companion, always close at hand: the ballpoint pen he keeps in his front trouser pocket. With it, he sets about the many case files to be seen gracing his desk – directly, rapidly, stubbornly, efficiently and in well-organised fashion. Is he a workaholic? His ice-hockey mad family wouldn’t agree. And once the hockey and skiing season is over, he likes to head south in his campervan. There, in addition to chilling and the barbecue grilling, he likes to go kite-surfing. No wonder, then, that he can feast to his heart’s content in his favourite Italian restaurant and still sport “la bella figura”.

E-Mail

Michael Kurt

Manager

His concise surname belies his dynamic and ambitious impact: Mike Kurt always gives it full throttle; whether at work, playing sport, or even on four wheels, he loves to go at things with the brakes off. He pulls the strategic strings in marketing to highly skilful effect. With a university degree in business management and a Masters to boot, he steers us, and also our clients, confidently towards our objectives. Now and then, though, even he hits the brakes and stops off: ideally in the South of France with a glass of wine and a fine French meal. Happy all over? Yes, you probably can say that. Only that on cold days he misses the warming sun of Florida.

Sabrina Wirth

Assistant to the Bord of Directors / Key Account Manager

Her day could easily have a few more hours in it. As Assistant to the Bord of Directors and Key Account Manager, Sabrina Wirth has a hand and a say in any number of things. And she’s not one for doing things by halves. It is precisely this conscientiousness and reliability that is so appreciated by clients and her team alike. She organises her leisure time to be equally packed: she plays basketball, is a member of a gymnastics club, does Jazzercise – and does all that with great passion. Her down-times can often seem somewhat too short. But as a result, she enjoys an occasional trip to the cinema, a fine Asian meal or a barbecue party on the banks of the Aare all the more.

Urs Baumgartner

Key Account Manager

Ursa major, ursa minor… Urs Baumgartner – fair to say, the insurance solutions Urs puts together are up there with the stars. Even if the man himself can sometimes seem a little grizzly. But appearances are deceptive, and his star-sign proves far more influential than the Latin origins of his first name. The Libran appreciates the finer things in life, and is the perfect gentleman. He tips the scales with over 30 years of career experience. And uses it to achieve a lot. In the search for unconventional solutions, he also draws on the playfully imaginative thought-processes of his son. Inspired and balanced, he finds the right insurance cover for the unusual and the special. And in his free time he likes to stay balanced too: skiing, golf and squash keep him on an even keel.

Martin Baumeyer

Key Account Manager

“Geht nicht, gibt’s nicht!” (“No such thing as can’t be done!”) – and certainly not when it comes to Martin Baumeyer. This BSC Young Boys and FC Barcelona fan loves the variety in his work as an Account Manager. And above all, that includes the extended, partnership-based relationships he maintains with his clients. The very personification of calm (even if he doesn’t always take himself too seriously), he is much appreciated whatever the situation. He might even wish for a little more calmness from his fellow humans! It’s an attitude to life that he finds in his favourite city, Barcelona. Things are somewhat less relaxed in his car or at his parties: places where he seems to be testing out the decibel pain threshold. Cover your ears and you’ll be fine!

E-Mail

Reto Stucki

Key Account Manager

“Im Grunde ist alles ganz einfach” (“Fundamentally, it’s all very simple”) – that is Reto Stucki’s favourite expression. It’s indicative of the can-do attitude that Reto brings to every opportunity. Always open to new ideas, he loves variety and likes to look beyond the regularly-trodden paths. The sole exception to this? His daily can of Cola Zero. He himself rates anything but a zero with us, in fact quite the opposite: as a Swiss certified insurance manager, he is a canny Key Account Manager with a good sense of humour – quite able to take a joke at his own expense. It’s a quality that some others could do well to develop.

Hanspeter Jenni

Key Account Manager

Total contentment? That's precisely what many yearn for. Amongst them is Hanspeter Jenni who, in contrast to lots of other people, believes in taking personal responsibility for life's outcomes. "It's never too late to become what you would have liked to have been" asserts the Swiss graduate financial planner who is all for change when it comes to personal growth. This account manager is also not reticent in applying this knowledge to sound commercial effect, nor advising and supporting his clients courteously and unerringly. In all of this the man with a thousand ideas is never at a loss for a solution. Every day it serves to bring him a step closer to his goal of contentment.

Fabian Vogel

Support Key Accounts

Well, who can resist Graubünden charm? Not us! Fabian Vogel is a born-and-bred example of just such charm, and young and cool with it. But he can only launch his charm offensive once the first coffee of the day has been downed. After that, he gets down to business, quickly, efficiently and obligingly. If things don’t go as planned, that can lead to some head-scratching. But he knows what he’s aiming for. This ex-banker is currently studying for a business economics qualification. So unfortunately there’s not a lot of time left over to pursue interests such as diving. Happily, though, he can still carve a few turns on the local ski slopes now and again.

Doris Glausen

Specialist Support

Better to be living the dream than dreaming of the life – that is the motto that Doris Glausen lives by. And a love of travel is part of that, as can readily be concluded from her time working as a flight attendant. She’s attracted by all those places that offer encounters with sunshine and other cultures: Florida, Asia, the Maldives, the Mediterranean....And her constant travelling companions are openness of spirit and a good mood. Thanks to these qualities, Doris Glausen also manages everything that daily life throws up by way of challenges. Family and background work for our company are at the heart of it, with sport and yoga providing a balance. Even if some things are managed with just seconds to spare, somehow it all fits in time-wise.

Renate Leuthold

Specialist Support

Reni Leuthold has not regretted a single day of her decision to join Glausen + Partner. Individual freedom in how to get the day's work done, a team spirit that extends beyond the office and, naturally, her diverse and varied work as a technical support employee are the fascinating aspects of her job. Travelling, skiing, jogging and ice skating provide the necessary relaxation. The latter preferably at romantic locations like Lake Oeschinen, in Central Park in New York and on the Bundesplatz in Bern. She values having a comfortably furnished home and enjoys meeting up with friends for coffee. Whoever has dealings with her will immediately sense an exuberant zest for life. And usually be rewarded with a heart-warming smile.

Esther Zeindler

Aviation + ASTAG member solutions

“Über den Wolken muss die Freiheit wohl grenzenlos sein”, goes the song by German singer Reinhard Mey. Roughly translated as “Above the clouds, freedom surely has no borders”, it could just as easily come from the pen of Esther Zeindler. She just loves taking off into the skies, which explains her passion and fascination for the aviation industry. Whether a private jet or something even bigger, as a specialist she knows the best price-performance ratio for these unique insurance solutions. But she also keeps her feet firmly on the ground looking after her house, garden and pet. She really is game for anything, as they say. Or to put it another way, happy to set off on an exciting journey and see where it takes her. The only criterion is that she can take off and dream above the clouds.

Philipp Brosy

ASTAG member solutions

It is hardly surprising that field hockey counts among Philip Brosy's hobbies. That's because this insurance consultant with a Federal Vocational Education and Training Diploma is half Canadian and has English as his mother tongue. But it is intriguing to learn that, despite having a fear of flying, he enjoys travelling frequently. Philipp Brosy is very outgoing and inquisitive when it comes to people and cultures. He's well acquainted with South America as you might expect after his six-month trip there. The only thing not currently crossed off his wish list is a safari trip in Tanzania or South Africa. His organisational skills become evident in spades when it comes to his travel planning, but also in his day-to-day work. ASTAG customers, whom he wants to help with excellent insurance solutions compared to those from insurance companies, find him to be determined, accurate and obliging. And when he succeeds at this you won't find him resting on his laurels but determinedly setting himself new objectives.

Franziska Kaufmann

ASTAG member solutions

Franziska Kaufmann has learned the insurance business from the bottom up – including with the really big players. And coming from the anonymous major corporate culture, she appreciates the flat hierarchy, the personal recognition given to each individual at our company. She has plenty of experience, and is still looking for even more out of life – both from her work here and from her travels to the far north. To be precise, to Inari, in the Finnish part of Lapland. The unspoilt nature holds a promise of pure relaxation. And with a little luck you can see the Northern Lights too. With her competent member solutions, Franziska too brings light into the darkness. “As one door closes, another door opens” –  it's a motto that is close to her heart as she guides our clients in the right direction.

Barbara Lehmann

ASTAG member solutions, Events + Marketing

Our girl for (almost) everything is an all-rounder. Barbara Lehmann has been with us since 1997.  Everything she tackles turns out well. Helpful, a good communicator, with a strong sense of responsibility, an unflappable temperament and a tendency to perfectionism, you could say she is our secret weapon for any “mission impossible”. She is always cheerful, something which our clients appreciate every bit as much as her work colleagues. If you want to keep up with Barbara Lehmann, you’ll need to be in shape – she’s keen on her sports. She goes cycling in any weather, and she’s a regular lane swimmer during the summer months. She has a great sense of humour – and for that we appreciate her all the more!

Claudia Nussbaum

FIS Ski loss of event insurance

Claudia Nussbaum’s favourite saying is that “you don’t enter the Garden of Paradise with your feet, but with your heart”. And she sets her feet to it so that her heart can enjoy the beauty of the natural outdoors: she is a keen walker and biker, on her travels on her Vespa and touring the countries to the North. Her working day is similarly rich in diversity, focussed and independent. For over ten years now, she has been demonstrating her talent in dealing with people and risks. That’s why we're keen to hold on to her – only giving her free rein to work with our key customers! For them, she has a similar ability to rapidly develop a plan for customised insurance solutions.

Gabi Burri

Finance

Being successful is based on two things – clear goals, and a burning desire to achieve them. And the person who says and lives this is the person responsible here for seeing to it that the numbers all add up. Gabriela Burri has a sound grip on her duties (and our expenditures!). And she knows precisely what’s going on here at any moment. She is a vital support, generally to be found in a cheery mood in a cheerfully clutter-free office. Setting priorities, working independently – and effortlessly. And, unsurprisingly, Gabriela Burri maintains a balance in her free time too. Sports such as badminton, cycling and skiing, or trips to la bella Italia provide a welcome balance to family and job.

Louis Scheidegger

Deputy Head Claims Management

The performance curve for Louis Scheidegger points skywards. His favourite quote describes him to a tee: "What you take to be the summit, is merely a single step". It has seen him rise purposefully through the ranks with sufficient skills now to manage any claim, no matter how involved. But professional development is a further weapon in Louis Scheidegger's rise to the top: he will soon be able to call himself an insurance specialist with a Swiss Federal Professional Education and Training Diploma. Marking time is not his thing, stagnation is to be avoided. As a former active American football player, fitness and exercise are especially important to him. Content, just as he is? Not quite. He is still searching for a car with muscle enough to keep pace with his energetic strides.

Delia Schättin

Claims expert

She has one clear objective: completing her training as an insurance specialist with a Swiss Federal Professional Education and Training Diploma. But Delia Schättin is held in high esteem even without this qualification. As a claims specialist, she puts her skills to the test every day, manages to keep a hawk eye even on tricky cases and always arrives at agreeable solutions. Her movements on the horizontal bar, on the gymnastics rings, on the floor and when jumping are controlled and graceful. As a club leader, she also passes her enthusiasm for gymnastics on to younger club members with great joy and commitment. She is much lauded for the work she does, both professionally and privately – which frequently and quickly also brings a heartfelt laugh to her face.

Jillian Spring

Claims expert

"Take the time you need to find contentment" – Jillian Spring has taken this proverb to heart and has now returned to work in the back office after taking maternity leave. Luckily for us! That's because her wide-ranging expertise as a graduate business economist (Betriebswirtschafterin HF) is much in demand. Should a client suffer any damage, she can be relied upon for immediate advice. In keeping with the motto of "pas de problème!", she can even find expedient solutions in complex cases. Bilingual Jillian Spring (née Petitpierre) also goes to lengths to ensure her personal life is not lacking and harmony prevails at home. This might involve time out in a brine bath now and then or an excursion to the countryside – always grateful for being able to continue planning cautiously for her future.

Livia Pfeiffer

Trainee

Being able to enjoy and savour the smaller things in life is the resolution that Livia Pfeiffer has made for herself. But this of course doesn't necessarily expunge life's challenges. Take, for example, the commencement of her training in August to become a Business Administrator EFZ (Swiss Certificate of Competence) and one of her many hobbies, go-carting. Never at a loss for things to do, she is a truly spirited character who enjoys singing, dancing, the company of her friends and is never short of a good joke to liven up the atmosphere. Her sense of humour and genuine nature are also valued by clients. Anyone wishing to do Livia a good turn would be well advised to take her to a restaurant that serves nachos and burgers – and, whatever the circumstances, never call her in the office first thing in the morning ...

E-Mail

Sarah Leuenberger

Trainee

Sarah Leuenberger should be congratulated on her choice of career. And we are also proud of being able to support and assist her during her training to become a Business Administrator. She brings admirable qualities with her for working in the insurance sector. She wishes to help people and stand up for their rights. Except first thing in morning, that is! It’s certainly not when telephone calls are welcomed. Apart from that, you can count on her. Her team at work and even her clients think that's the way it should be. But the local climate is something Sarah is less inclined towards. During rotten weather she yearns for nothing more than a trip to warm, southern climes where she can frolic in the sunshine.

René Mörgeli

External Advisor / Member of the Management IRS Insurance- and Risk Services GmbH

No one can pull the wool over his eyes when it comes to insurance claims. With over 40 years of experience under his belt, René Mörgeli is still a long way from finding himself on the scrap heap. Showing great foresight, René has planned to withdraw from work gradually. The founder of IRS GmbH is now passing his accumulated knowledge to younger employees, and always ready to provide help and advice. It's a role that is perfect for this former footballer and coach – his abundant skills naturally also being much in demand in sport. Doing nothing is not an option for him. Discovering new things, travelling and snapping captivating moments with his camera is what he is passionate about. And when he's not doing that, you might find him contemplating life over a glass of wine in his ferryman's house on the river Thur.

Karim Drai

Key Account Manager

Do you know about Karim Drai? It's a name that could have jumped directly from the pages of Arabian Nights. "Our" Karim Drai however is far from being a central character in an oriental tale, he is in fact an accomplished specialist in freight forwarding logistics. Fairy tales are something he has no time for as an insurance broker; facts and numbers are more what he prefers to hear. Every day his job calls for logistical thinking as well as a good dose of creativity. New ideas and practical solutions are things he is also never short of. To cite just one example, increasing the speed limit on Swiss motorways to 140 km/h. Wanting to get ahead without setbacks is something he couldn't be accused of though, and not only at work. If only he didn't have such a penchant for perfectionism ...

Insurance partners

We work together with the following insurance companies and occupational health insurers (as a non-exhaustive listing of pension funds, pension providers and cantonal buildings insurance companies). As an independent insurance broker operating under the guidelines of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, FINMA, we are remunerated for our activities by our insurance partners via brokerage fees. These are set out transparently for our clients.
